If we do not consider death, we’re not fully prepared to consider life.
When people believe one thing and do another, they are inviting miseries. If you give yourself the name, play the game. When you believe something you don’t follow with your heart, intellect, and body, it hurts. Don’t do that. Don’t hurt yourself. Live your belief or let that believe go.
If you’re not actively living a belief, it’s not really your belief; anyway, you’re just kidding yourself. If you’re nit actively involved in getting what you want, you don’t really want it. You probably really believe something else but may be afraid to admit it to yourself.
But death is that belief which you can never deny. I’d say we are alive because we will die one day. If there’s no death, there’s no life. So live while you’re alive!
When I say, death is a friend, people say I’m crazy. But let me tell you, it actually is a friend. With the hope we’ll die one day, we are encouraged to do more of what we can do. Where there is life, there is death too.
In the words of William Hazlitt:
“Perhaps the best cure for the fear of death is to reflect that life has a beginning as well as an end. There was a time when we were not: this gives us no concern, why then should it trouble us that a time will come when we shall cease to be? I have no wish to be alive hundred years ago, why should I regret and lay it so much to heart that I shall not be here a hundred year hence?”
Death is not something in our hands same as our life wasn’t before we were born. It is natural. Taking natural things in our control causes destruction.
If this is a purely biological life, then who would want to live forever anyway? Imagine living forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever and ever, and ever, and ever. If you got bored reading all those “ever’s”, imagine how quickly you would become bored with an eternal life in a finite universe.
If you ever gotten bored with anything you once found fascinating, you understand the problem. Given enough time, you’d become bored with everything in life. And the enough time I’m talking about here is infinity, forever.
I agree with Albert Einstein, “The fear of death is the most unjustified of all fears, for there is no risk of accident to someone who’s dead.”
